I just received 2 (4") Black Rhoms. I have dealt with Red Bellies before and primarly fed them feeders and beefheart. Does anyone have recommendations for caring for Black Piranhas? IP: Logged |

You can feed them the same, just less as they are primarily fin biters and their diet is much less than you would expect. I would also think about separating your young blacks because in time as they mature, they will not tolerate any other piranha, including their own species. These are solitary fish, not geared for schooling like the pygos. IP: Logged |

I'm surprised they aren't going after each other already is the tank divided? I feed feeders from salted quarantine tank, I've fed crayfish and earthworms too. I've yet to try the beef heart. Do you have any pics? I've got some at "http://www.pbase.com/winkyee/feb_303_piranha_pics&page=1 " IP: Logged |
