Hmmm...today, roughly 24 hrs from my Bala being introduced into my tank, and the water is cloudy. The temp is around 80, and I have fed them about 3 times since this. I have an air pump which I turned off at night and the filter runs constantly. I dropped in one of the "alka-seltzer" like tablets that stabalizes the water. Also, the pH level is around 6.5. Did I add too much food? Is the temp just a little too high? Can anyone help me out? Tnx in advance.

Take a look at your tank from the end. The color of the water can give you a clue as to what is going on in your tank. If it is amber you have ammonia buildup, green is algae, brown can be overfeeding, and white is fungus or the fish's slime coating suspended in the water. Even though you didn't mention color I would suspect it to be white cloudiness. If you acclimate the fish too quickly you can give your fish PH burn which strips their protective slime coating off their body. Best advice now is to add a PH buffer like Novaqua that will help your fish reestablish his slime coating and hope that he doesn't go into PH shock which can happen up to two weeks from now. You may want to consider adding some med for fungus as a prophalaxis while he is developing his coating. Temperature is fine. You might want to raise the PH a little AFTER he gets over this in a couple of weeks, but do so gradually and use a Ph buffer when you do. Good Luck.

Thank you very much. The cloudiness is in fact a little white. (little later in the day) I had made a realization since last posting this. I noticed that the angles I was looking at the tank from were into dark corners (did that make sense?). Also, the lightbulb is not fluresent (sp?) which I knew but still expected a white light. So I am thinking that with the light and dark corner, it appeared a bit cloudy
