I recently got a 50gal aquarium. I have a 10gal that has been home to several platies and a pleco for several months now. What I want to know is if I can transfer the fish into the new tank right away if I transfer all of the gravel and decoartions as well. My thought is that the bacteria colonies already exist to handle the bio load from the platies and the pleco therefore there shouldn't be a biological danger to this transfer. Please let me know. Then I can add new fish over time allowing the bacteria colonies to adjust acordingly.

as a matter of fact i did the same thing except i transfered to a 55 gal. and yea the fish should be fine, they were with me. have the water running filtering with the decorations for a few days and then put the fish in. also it helps if u dont clean the decoratins.

Thanks alot. It's good to know that I am heading in the right direction with my fish knowledge and not about to make a crazy killer mistake with my fish.
