Hey...i've had the same 5 fish in a 10 gallon tank for almost 5 months now. They include two 2 inch tin foil barbs, one 3 inch pacu, one 3 inch jack dempsey, and a 3inch placo.....These fish grew a little when i first got them and then just stopped and for the past five months have not grown at all...my best guess is that i need to get a bigger tank, but is there any other explanation??.....

These all grow to large size fish when given the proper conditions. They need a lot of space and good aeration play the major role in the rate of growth. Had you started with a 55 gallon 5 months ago with good aeration your Pacu would now be 10" to 12", the Tinfoils about 4", the Dempsey about 5", and the Plecostamus about 4". Does that answer your question?
