Hello,

I have the opportunity to purchase a 1000 gallon custom acrylic aquarium for $3000 USD. This is for the tank only, NO pumps, stand, etc.

I have never owned anything of this size yet. Is this a good deal? How long do acrylics last? I am assuming since its plastic like material i dont know if it will fade/become cloudy after a few years and i have to throw it away.

Any information will be appreciated.

I myself don't own an acrylic, but I know people who do. All I've heard is good things about them. For some reason there very popular right now. There supposed to be darn near indestructable. If someone offered you 3000$ for a 1000 gal. aqurium, I would jump on it.

i had an acrylic aquarium before and it tended to scratch easily by thhe rocks. if you do get it just be careful and it will do well for you. hope this helps.
