Im ready to start a tank with Pirahnas. Please tell me what kind of food, filter, gravel, plants (fake or real), lighting, decorations (driftwood), and other things like treatment for water???? My tank size will be around 55-65 gal. How many can fit in there comfortably without killing each other and able to grow peacefully?????? Thanks alot. Email at theballer16@yahoo.com if you please! First you need to determine what species of piranha you want. There are 60 or more species, but only 3 are true piranha. What that means to you is that those 3 species of true piranha will shoal (school). The rest of the species are fin biters, etc. Here go to this link and read up on them. http://www.angelfire.com/biz/piranha038/ You can also go to message boards found there.
