I have searched all over and cannot find any information on the lifespan of mystic sharks... does anyone know what the average lifespan of this type of fish is?

I have an Irridescent shark that I got from a pet store about two years ago. At the store he had half of his tail missing. It has grown back. The "shark" is now over a foot long..it is amazing how large he has gotten. I was looking at some so-called "Medium" Irridescents the other day at another pet store...about 3" long at most...

I never thought one would grow so large in a home aquarium...he's very cool. I'll try to get a picture if anyone would like to see him.

Irridescent sharks can grow up to or over 2 feet in lenght. I have seen several that size.

my friend has an iridescent shark who has grown to be somewhere about 6-8 inches. but i had an ir. shark and it grew to be about 2-3 inches and died so i am not a big fan of them anymore.....it also infected my tank with the so called "ick"

i just bought a 50G tank for my 2oscars and 1 meduim sized irr. shark. i have kept my irr. shark for almost 3 years... and its still growing. i think it would last from 3-5 years expectancy. i saw one in a petshop (albino irr. shark over 2.5-3 ft.) i did'nt expect it to grow that long though...
