You can buy long welders gloves that will come up past your elbows. They can't bite through these. Some pet shops also carry similar gloves. They will just have to be very thick and long if you get a tank that is that deep. Good luck! IP: Logged |

One of the shops I used to work in had 2 RBP's. We cleaned the tanks every week, barehanded. The only time anyone got bit was when the water was clouded from stiring up the gravel and the person doing the cleaning didn't know where they were in the tank. They had gotten up in the corner and she reached where they were in the corner to stir up the gravel some more and got bit. RBP's are actually very timid and you will probably only get bitten if you corner them. As for the other varieties I have no experience with them. IP: Logged |

i agree with this i have cleaned my tank with two 4 inchers and the always stay away from my hand. also get a plecostomus. they will help keep the sides nice and shinny. as long as the p's are kept fed they shouldnt bother it. and a siphon hose and when you do water chenges put that down in the rocks to suck up the gunk. if your really worried take the fish out and give it a good scrub without fear.
