I knew my two "big boys" were just a couple of ninnies now I'm sure. Here's proof.
Sometime last night a fairly small tree limb fell from a neighbors tree and ended up caught on a low branch of a Magnolia in my back yard suspended just above the ground. At 6:00 this morning I open the door to let the boys out and Duke leaped out first as usual but seeing the limb in the darkness he started to go crazy, barking while backing up. By then Freckles had peered out the door and decided it was safer inside. When I saw what had spooked them I went out and pulled the limb down. With much persuasion I finally coaxed them both outside and took the limb down the side of the house and out the gate to place it on the trash pile for collection later this morning. Seeing the gate open Freckles decided it was even safer in the front yard so he slinked out followed buy Duke.
Now I'm right beside my neighbors house so I couldn't yell at them out loud so I'm doing that "whisper shout" GET YOUR BUTTS BACK HERE but the boys were now enjoying their new freedom. I finally got Duke to come back inside the gate but when I went after Freckles Duke was right behind me because he was not about to stay by himself. Neither of them were about to go back into that dark back yard where that "Thing" was lurking so I finally had to ring my own front doorbell so all of us could then be let into the safety of the house.
What a way to start the day.

LMAO, that's the best thing I've heard all day. I am sitting in my office laughing to myself while my coworkers, who I am sure already think I am unstable glance curiously over at me thinking, "What the hell is she laughing aobut now?" .
