Stop Sebastain from being such a brat to both my female dogs??? Mostly Nala if she comes up to me he growls and barks at her i yell at him but next time he does it again. Nala like to attack the vacuume i yell sebastain jumps up and tries to bite her face it seems that he is getting meaner towards her and she just walks away. When ever jasmine has a treat he tries to steal it from her he is such a brat but getting worse. Could it be because Jasmine is in heat??? i have panties and a pad on her (how funny that looks poor baby) are his hormons going crazy because she is in heat??? his favorit toy is a big blue stuffed bunny and latley he has been trying to hump it and of course trying to hump jasmine she will have nothing to do with him right now.

sorry i'm babbling now any ideas on why sebastain is so darn mean all of the sudden????

thanks

Hi Renee, Sebastian is probably going nuts because you have a female in heat, that's the only thing that makes sense if he just started this behavior. Unless you want puppies! I would keep them seperated. It's not fair to him, and he will only get worse. And didn't you say that Jasmine is old? or do I have the wrong dog in mind? And when it's time for her to mate she will try to get to him also. Also dogs in heat have mood swings just like a woman.

Hope it gets better for you!

Susan

Jasmine is only 1 year 3 mos. and only 4.5 lbs this is her second heat I want to breed them (sebastain and jasmine are both AKC Yorkies) some day she is to young and i still have ALOT of research to do about breeding (i'm saving my vacation time now for when that happens) and OMG Jasmine is trying to hump sebastain also i guess she is ready i better buy a chasity belt for her geez. I guess she is going to have to sleep in my daughters room till she is done and i do keep them seperated during the day and keep a good eye on them till bed time.

As far as Sebastain he is 1 year 7 mos and it seems that he has an awful lot of fun with his bunny (stuffed of course) he comes out of my room panting after trying to hump the bunny poor baby i dont know what else to do for him

Hi rene. Males can become agressive when there is a female in heat in the same house.
How long has jasmine been in heat.

Sounds to me like you are a good owner who is waiting until she is older and doing more research before you allow them to have a litter there not alot of people that would do that they would just put the dogs in a room or backyard and allow them to mate.

Sebastians hormones will be racing bless him and lucky the bunny is a toy or i am sure it would not like what he is doing to it lol.

To know if jasmine is ready to stand for a male simply rub down her back till you get to the base of her tail and if she ready she will either lift her tail or turn it sideways.

All you can really do is keep a close eye on them and hope he calms down when her heat finishes.

mike.

Yeah! GO Rene!! You do that research girl. Now this is one thread, where no one can get angry, throw a fit, exc......

I thank you sooo much. Just remember. Yorkies are known tohave welping problems and almost 60% of them have to have cecerian births.....

Keep reading and chatting with breeders, vets, ect...
I supose you have all their health certificates and tests done right???

Just checking. To calm him down right now will be near impossible. She can still breed even though she appears to be outof heat. keep the panties on for another week. Remember, she can still come in heat again as early as 10 days!

well i decided that i'm NOT going breed my Yorkies i do not need anymore vet bills besides after alot of research on my own my little girl is only 4.5lbs and my boy is 7lbs i dont want to take any chances. When i talked to my vet the only thing she said was she can't comment on that cuz she was told that she coulnd't have kids and she has 3. Also Jas replied to one of my post cuz sebastain has an under bite and apperntaly that can cause medical problems (my vet just said it was cute) i never knew it was a medical issue. Now that my rottie is very very sick i'm not going to take any chances (not contagious to the yokies) but i will not take a chance on loosing a dog. I will get them fixed ASAP (first i have to pay for Nala's bills)

Good descision Rene!

Reminder to ALL who want to breed. If EITHER dog has ANY kind of deformity, health issues or anything even as minor as a crooked tooth, they should not be bred. That is a genetic defect and will be passed to the pups. An underbite or overbite, may look "cute" but the health issues that derive from it are horrible. They can cause the pup difficulty eating, which results in the dog starving and poor nutrition.
