Got a call from my grand mother yesterday. She told me to come over that she had picked up three puppies off the side of the highway. I got there and I haven't seen puppies sooooo cute! I was so pissed off that someone would dump something so adorable as they are, I mean, come on they could have taken these to Wal-Mart and found homes for them in like 5 minutes! I wormed them yesterday, and I almost threw up lastnight when I saw what came out. It was almost a 7" tapeworm. they were infested with hookworms, and their little gums were sooo pale. Sure they had fat little tummies, but still, they were shy, wormy and not taken care of. They are about 5 wks, only about 4-5 lbs each. Theres a little fluffy blk and white border collie looking one with pale blue/grey eyes, VERY ADORABLE, a cream colored fluffy one, and a chowish looking one. All females, all flufffy, and now all spoiled rotten. I'm picking up the shots today. I just can't consive how something so precious as these gals are, could get dumped! I drove all around all yesterday afternoon, and of course everyone fell in love with them, but no one knew where they came from. I think they have families now that I've shown everyone them, but I'm not letting them leave my care until at the earliest Saturday. Just to make sure they're ok. Still, people are getting under my skin. Why on a busy highway? Why dump them at all, and the most, WHY HAVE THEM IF YOU DON"T WANT THEM!!!! Grrrrrrrrr....just had to vent. IP: Logged |

oh yeah, I'm sure. THey ate like savages when I fed them. THey are playing this morning and driving my grandmother (who's watching them while I'm at work for signs of illness) silly. She said they run to her and yip and bark. Its too cute. And sad all at the same time. IP: Logged |

Hi Sami, You truly are a nice "building" that was too funny!! If you post pics, Jamiya's going to want all of them! hehe...got puppy fever real bad... I don't get it!! and never will, how people can do things like that. And on a busy highway to boot! I love the idea of selling crafty things to help support the needy dogs. As soon as you can post some pics, I would like to see what you have to offer. God Bless you! girl Susan IP: Logged |

Hi sam its nice to see there is loving and caring people like you and your grandmother out there that was willing to pick up these little girls take them home and care for them most people would have either picked them up and dropped them off at the shelter which is not too bad but then there are others who would have just left them there. Huge applaud to you both and glad the little ones are doing so well cant wait to see pictures [This message has been edited by charmedagain (edited 03-08-2004).] IP: Logged |

Already have!!! Yeah, nice buildings like me...he he he..I'm still laughing about that one! I've already got people wanting them! Oh this is great!!! If I could make a hundred dollars a month, that would at least cover the rescue food. I'd needlike $300 for vet bills and medications. Its such a huge $$$$!!! It takes up all you fun spending money and time, work, heartache when one dies, and I wouldn't stop doing it for the world. I'll post many pics when I get home of the pups, their sooo cute. I've been thinking about them all day! IP: Logged |

GLad to know they are safe .I have been there alot of times .Around here people dump puppies on the side of the roads all the time .Last month I picked up 2 from my sister that someone had dumped near her .Beautiful little puppies .I wormed them ,gave them shots ,kept them for about 2 weeks to make sure no parvo and then placed them both with the same couple .So ,at least they are together still .Good job ,Sam .Need more out there like you ! *mumbles about all the print-outs about how to start a rescue, chomps down a few more M&M's, and pretends to work some more* Hey, what can I say. I love learning new things and working on projects.

Well, The names have been picked.... I'm drawn sooo tempted to keep Little Molly! I know I really shouldn't and can't, but since I could never bring the Real Molly home with me, (she lives at my mothers and has never been anywhere else shes also 8) I'm tempted, but there will be others, and I'll want them too, besides. Smokey and Charllotte aren't to keen on these pups. They kinda looked at me like, "oh god, not more!" It was funny. They aren't allowed near them, just in case, but still they looked terrified! I'm really hopin this fund raiser will kick off. I've had people ask me about it, but no one sent their info and stuff...so I dunno! IP: Logged |
