Hey guys! Last night, my puppy got into the trash and ate some shrimp shells. Since then, he hasn't been sluggish or anything, but I am concerned. He's been vomitting and having BMs. I was wondering if there is something I should do, like puppy Pepto, or should I just allow nature to take its course? Please Help....

I would call the vet and ask, just to be sure. I'm pretty sure that dogs can eat shrimp just fine. He could just be unused to it, or perhaps he is allergic?

Thanks for the help. I think I'm going to go ahead and call the vet. He just spit up again and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks a lot!

Shrimp shouldn't hurt him. But the tails are sharp and have a barb on the end of them. It could peirce his intestines or stomach. I would call the vet asap!

Hey everyone. Thanks for the quick responses to my questions and concerns. I called the vet and she said that he should be fine and for me to keep watch on him for the time to watch his eating behavior. What a relief! Thanks again for the advice!
