behind this....

yesterday in southern New Hampshire some people saw what they thought was a dog on the side of the road hit by a car. Upon investigating they discovered a purebred boxer with plastic strapping tied around his muzzle...done on purpose. The people who found the dog had to use wire cutters to get the strapping off the dog. It was so tight the dog hadn't been able to pant, drink or eat...no idea how long he wandered around like that.

They rushed the dog to a nearby vet - who wouldn't treat the dog unless payment was guaranteed (another money-grubbing arsehole)...they rushed the dog to the nearby animal shelter where, luckily, a vet was making some rounds (donating his time...I'm sure vet #1 knows nothing about donating time). It was determined the dog was severely malnourished and has pneumonia.

And WORSE STILL...whoever did this horrible thing to this dog had TIED HIS PENIS CLOSED so he couldn't even pee!!!!!!

What kind of cruel beast can do this to an animal?

Horrible horrible horrible...they showed the dog on the local news tonight probably hoping someone would recognize him - he looked so calm.

Here is his picture I took off the news website...this really saddens me - I like to see the good in people...I'm sure this dog did too

If he is a purebred, can they not track down the owner? or the breeder that he came from?

This is one of the most horrible things I have ever heard! That poor dog...I'm so glad someone found him in time. I just don't understand how anyone could live with themselves after doing something so evil to another living creature.

Can you imagine if that was YOUR dog that was stolen from you or got lost? I can't even think about it.

Please everyone, keep your dogs on leash or confined.

What a horrible story ... horrible. It made my eyes well with tears. This is the same kind of person that took that child in Florida and killed her. Pure evil ...

Mary, can you give us some kind of update? Did he find a good home? I was also wondering about what Susan said. Did the name of that idiot vet that refused to treat the poor dog get out? He doesn't need to be practicing. Thanks, Mary

the dog is still under constant care in a foster home - he might be suffering from kidney failure also. I saw the article regarding the vet in a news story but the news on TV didn't mention it so I don't know what is going on there.

This dog will be under care for a long time I fear - the news story showed how his breathing has been affected by the pneumonia so I think he's going to be an ill pup for awhile.

The person I deal with at the shelter where I volunteer is big into boxer rescue - she has emailed the story to New England's boxer rescue hoping they'll help using their resources to aid the authorities. And who knows someone might even recognize the dog.

But other than the possible kidney failure there has been no updates on Fraser (named after Joe Fraser the boxer)...they showed him laying on a doggie bed (huge one too) and he looked quite content and calm in spite of his ragged breathing and his bones jutting out all over from starvation.

He's going to be well taken care of now...as he should of before he was tortured (and they are labeling this as not only animal abuse but also animal torture a felony - so whoever did this if they get caught they are going to be charged with a felony)
