Hi All! I would love to hear about the most awesom things your dogs have done. Example: A Sheperd taught my Daughter to walk, won't go into the story again, you've all heard it. But stories like that warm my soul! Please share!!! Sincerely, Susan IP: Logged |

Hi susuan i have a strange story regarding my females, first off a final check at the vets shows mitzy due anytime from the 17th - 25th of march. Anyway my other 2 females have started producing milk and have started cleaning mitzy and loving on her its like they know she is pregnant so they are there to help. Zara produced milk when Tia had her last litter as she seemed to know that Tia would need help feeding them and it was really weird as four out of the 12 puppies Tia would have nothing to do with them so i gave them to Zara who gladlly help feed and raise the litter ones and even took it upon herself to go and lie in the whelping box and keep the others warm while Tia was out going potty really sweet i thought.
She will sleep in her bed in the living room while i am in there but as soon as i goto bed she is up the stairs and hiding under the bed lol Will keep you all informed of how she is getting on. mike IP: Logged |

Hey mike! Awsome story, horses will do this as well. This isn't dog related, but IT gets to me every time I think about it. My mare had her first baby 2 years ago. Her mother Brownie was still alive at the time and 38 yrs old!!!! She had her baby with in 5 minutes of her water breaking, milk dropping, and all!!! Well, Brownie has always been a loner, but the head of the pecking order. The baby "misty" just flat out refused to hang out with her mother unless it was "dinner" time and Sassy was sooo unexperianced that she didn't know the diffrence. So brownie stood by and took care of that baby with everything she could, she even nursed it! She produced water instead of milk in her udder, and played the seragate mother. The vet said this was a normal behavior and that "Granny" as he called her because she was Misty's grandmother, was doing an excellent job. Since Sassy didn't take care of her except for feeding her, we were worried that she would have little discipline in the "horsey" world and not fit in with the herd. Luckily Brownie took care of everything! She sadly passed on just a few short moths as Misty went to her new home. Sassy moped around for weeks, and when I moved her to our new place with my boyfriend, She got this new spark in her, and I swear I can hear Brownie calling, and see her running through the pasture with Sassy and her pasture mate S.A. I am racking my brain to think of one, but nope!!! I think my dogs are too selfish and lazy, haha. I can tell you a cute story about a PERSON doing something nice for a doggy though. It's totally off the subject, but anyway... There's this guy that goes for daily jogs and he has 3 dogs that go with him. The smallest dog gets puffed out half way through the run, so this guy takes a pram with him to put the small dog in for the rest of the way!!! His partner wonders why he just doesn't leave it at home, but I'm sure he understands how much enjoyment the dog would be missing out on if he did leave him at home.Second of all I truely love that story because how many grown men would push a pram with a dog in it!!!??? This guy is my hero! I love people that will do anything for the sake of their dogs happiness... IP: Logged |
