Mistresskela's answer to Atlantabulldog's recent post was rude and patronizing. Both of those foods and IAMS are expensive and highly recommended by most vets. Try to hold back on being grandiose and patronizing to people who obviously love their dog. [This message has been edited by pattonmommy (edited 03-02-2004).] IP: Logged |

Ok while I'm not condoning MKela's response-I feel the need to respond: First of all, Iams and Science Diet are not really quality foods, even though they are vet recommended- just because they are expensive does not mean they are quality. The reason that they have to be so expensive is because of all the advertising that both of these companies do, not because they put a great deal into their products. If you have a specific disagreement with something M. Kela said, feel free to respond to her directly in the original post, that is what this board is for, but I don't think it's necessary to start a new post just to insult somebody. Just my thoughts- but beyond all that welcome to the board, and I hope you find lots of useful info here [This message has been edited by puggleowner (edited 03-02-2004).] IP: Logged |

If you think IAMS is expensive you cannot afford to have a dog. IAMS test animals in a cruel and inhumane way which has talked about many many times and should be common knowledge to any pet owner...or at least the ones who take the time to do the necessary research. Vets recommend what they are paid to recommend. This board is meant for being constructive and helping other people solve their problems. I suggest you not clutter the board with unneccessary topics voicing your opinion about a subject you are clearly not knowledgeable about. If you have a problem with my tone I suggest you take it up with me and at the VERY LEAST, use the "REPLY" button instead of creating new useless topics. *edit* Two first posts from two brand new users both created today? I suspect both of these names are owned by the same and by someone who already participated in the aforementioned thread. Hi! I have to agree! there is no reason to open a new post to insult someone. If you were offended, just post your opinion on the original post. Some people feel very strongly about certain things, but we don't need to be hateful in our responces. If you don't agree with someone that's your right! I'm not saying you had no cause for offence, but this sort of thing just gets the ball rolling...so to speak.... Just my 2cents Susan IP: Logged |

well, since i was the only one indisagreement in the aforementioned post, i assume you think it was me that created 2 "new' id's to post with? nahhh no need. Anyways, i was in no way saying that Euk and Sci Diet are one of the better overall foods, but to most who only shop at the larger stores, they are. This at least showwed to me anyways that the owner was at least making an effort to do something good. I then merely said how 2 of the responses were respectful and informative, and one was not. If this is incorrect, i apologize. I to agree that iams and sci dioeat are rather poor in nutritional value, but am not about to slam a new owner who is just coming on here for a bit of help. Thank you, Mistresskela for all of your helpful information -- you must quite knowledgable on most subjects since you are a highly qualified cocktail waitress. IP: Logged |

I'm not even a moderator here...but c'mon you guys..enough with the flaming remarks and jabbing statements. You can debate a topic without being insulting, TRY a little harder at being diplomatic, please. IP: Logged |

I'm done and I apologize to anyone that I offended with my remark. That woman has no "people skills" and I just lost my temper. She doesn't realize that she is turning off new members who only want to help their dogs. If she was more diplomatic, we dog owners that are less knowledgeable might learn a thing or two. I think Jamiya is quite knowledgeable - very educating - without being patronizing or rude. Again, I apologize to anyone who was insulted by my "rude" remark to mistresskela. IP: Logged |
