I just have a question Why do people let there dogs run wherever they want???? I was in Tahoe this weekend and of course took Nala, Sebastian and Jasmine. it was a little to cold for sebastain and jasmine (even with sweaters) but they still ran around when all of the sudden this truck pulls up in front of his cabin (2 doors down) and let his dogs jump out of the back of his truck they came running down and scared the crap out of me they came running down barking and growling i had my dogs on leashes i had to carry sebastain and jasmin and thank god i had a friend there to take nala and we had to try to run in the snow to get back to our cabin yelling at the other dogs to go home. The owner just droped them off saw them running towards us and then truned around in his truck and left??? Then later i left my dogs in the cabin and we all went out to play i was tired so i was sitting in the snow and this beautifal Husky came running up and knock me and my beer over he was a nice dog but should he be able to run wild and knock me over???? Plus at first i didnt know he was a nice dog all i saw was a big pretty dog then all of the sudden he was on top of me. Geez I dont think i would ever let my dogs run around like that. At 11 pm i put my dogs on their leashes thinking i could take them out to go potty when here ANOTHER dog comes running up I had to take my dogs in the house again. I GUESS I JUST DONT' UNDERSTAND HERE IN CALIFORNIA THERE IS A LEASH LAW and i didn't leave california. I would be so scared that my dogs wouldn't come back. I dont' know maybe it's just me what do you think???

if its not a specific are for unleashes dogs then yes, they should be on leash! why on earth did he leave his dogs?? thats bizarre IP: Logged |

They probably think they can let their dogs run wild because they are "camping" or "on vacation." But that's just plain irresponsible.

I'll sort of play the devil's advocate here because my dad was one of these "let your dogs run loose" people. He just didn't realize that not all people are as comfortable with strange dogs as he was. He NEVER put the dogs on a leash (mind you of course that they always listened to him). He would just let them out whereever and let them run around and be dogs. Just some people aren't as concerned about it as others. His attitude was more of "well, if you are at a park then you should be ok with dogs running up to you; if you aren't then why are you here?". I'm not saying I agree but some people just don't take this type of stuff as seriously as others. IP: Logged |

It was a different world back then. My dad's dog ran loose, too. They had a house on a lake and his dad owned a good stretch of property and rented cabins and boats and stuff. Their Beagle just ran around all day and played in the lake. But that was 50 years ago. The world changes. And the guy who drove up, let his dogs out, and drove away? What was up with that?!
