Hello...(this is long...sorry)I need some advice on how to handle a situation involving my firends 7 month old puppy named Jasmine. Here is some background info. My friends got her at a local animal shelture when she was about four months old. They live in a guest room that is attached to a main house. They do not have carpet floors but a stone/tile kind of floor.
My friends have never owned a dog before, Jasmine is there first. Well when Jasmine gets excited she pees a little which I know is normal for young puppys when they get excited. When they first got Jasmine they wanted to bring her over to play with my dog and I asked if she was potty trained. they said she was because she never had an accident at their place (which turned out to be not true casue you can smell the pee when you walk in their room, they must not notice or something.) Well they brought her over and would come over almost everynight with her. My dog and Jasmine got a long really well, but when we greeted Jasmine at the door she would get excited and pee. Not only did she get excited and pee but she would constantly relieve herself in my apartment. My friends would clean it up of course but this kept happening...and I dont even own this dog and it was gross to have her come over and use my house as a toliet. So I asked that they not bring her over anymore until she was potty trained. (Everytime she had an accident they would say no in a sweet, gentle voice, and then pet her and stuff casue she would be upset...I told them to be firm with her but they NEVER are)

Now Jasmine is 7 months old and she still is not potty trained. Not only is she not potty trained but she rules thier home and tries to rule mine. She is pushy and jumps all over people, and is conpletly out of control. Jasmine's mom lets her get away with anything and everything, she even lets Jasmine snap at her face and other body parts when she is playing. This dog has absolutly no training at all..nothing!
After I told Jasmine's mom the first time not to bring her over becuase I did not want pee stains all over my floor, nor did I want my dog to start peeing everywhere, she actually stopped coming over and even calling me (now I didnt know if it was because I did not want Jasmine over or what) But now i started seeing her agian at the dog park, so i thought after a month I would give Jasmine another chance. And guess what? She is still the same and more out of control then ever. They came over lastnight for the first time after all this and she peed on my carpet. So today I told her no more Jasmine coming over.
I feel like I need to say something though about them getting Jasmine trained. I have never seen a dog get away with soo much. I went to their house the other day and it smelled so bad...like pee. They just dont seem to notice. Jasmine's dad will yell at her and stuff, but he doesnt do this when she is doing the bad things, he does it after the fact.(he came home and she chewed up some shoes) I told her they need to catch her in the act and then punish her. I dont know if I should say anything to them about them getting her trained. It is a weird situation. But i dont even want to be around Jasmine. She is always jumping on me and pushing her nose in my face and much more...does anyone have advice...should I say something? should i keep my mouth shut?? I feel so bad because I can just see Jasmine getting a little older and staying this way and them getting rid of her cause of it. It is not Jasmine's fault...its the owners, she needs desipline...please help!!!

Also...I orignally thought that Jasmine was having accidents at my house because she was not used to carpet but since I know she pees in their house and lacks disipline, i ruled that out.
I'm just thankful my baby is a sweet angel...makes me appriciate her even more then I already do!

Hi first off you seem to be very lucky because jasmine has peed on your carpets and you have a dog they usually mark over where another dog has done there business so your lucky your dog has not done this.

You can only try and mention to your friends about the behaviour of there dog but unless they are willing to train the dog and teach her manners then there is not a great deal you can do.
As even if they took jasmine to a trainer they need to carry on the training or she will just revert back to her old ways.

What they need to realise is that jasmine has learnt its ok to go potty indoors so she will do it in anyones house she enters this is not right and should be stopped.

I know this sounds cruel but if they want there house smelling like a doggy toilet and wont do anything about it i wuld leave them to it as they will soon learn that once jasmine gets older its going to be alot harder to break the habits.
At 7months old jasmine should be able to hold it till she is either taken for a walk or let out in the yard.

All my puppies before they goto there new home at 8-9wks old are fully house trained and it is natural for some puppies to have accidents in there new home as they have to be taught where they can go potty but this will usually only last a day or 2 but its down to the owner to teach the babies right from wrong and good manners.
