I believe you can use kool-aid. Not too sure though. Some members on this board dye theirs so hopefully they can help you better.

KoolAid lasts longer. For a toy poodle I would take 4 packets of red (cherry or strawberry) koolaid (actually FlavorAid works a little better....the imitation brand) in a small spray bottle. Spray it on when the poodle is dry (Wear gloves it will make a mess) Soak the dog entirely.....Blow drog the dog entirely dry (she will feel crusty to the touch) then rinse once in water until the water runs pretty clear...you dont need to rinse really well just make sure all the crust is out. Then blow dry once more and you're all set. To add some oopmh add a some food coloring. Be liberal. The food coloring washes out in ONE wash (or one rainfall) and is more likely to come off on white furniture if you have any. The koolaid stays on really well. Will be hot pink at first and end up being light light pink in 3 months or so.

I used to dye my poodle mutt green. I did her like an easter egg, with food coloring, vinegar and water.
