I HAVE 2 PEKINGNESE, TIFFANY AND COCO, TIFFANY IS 2 YRS OLD AND COCO IS 1. THEY ARE INSEPRATABLE. COCO IS VERY NERVOUS AND SCARED AND DOES SOCIALIZE WELL WITH PEOPLE. THEY WERE BOTH GIVEN TO ME BY THE SAME PERSON. I DONT BELIEVE THAT THEY WERE MISTREATED. ANY IDEAS OF WHY COCO IS SO SCARED OF EVERYTHING.

How old was he when you got him? My guess is a lack of socialization. Puppies need to be introduced to all kinds of people, noises, ect. so that they will not be fearful and nervous when they hear strange noises or see unfamiliar people.
He socializes well with people or did you mean to say he does "not" socialize well with people? What kind of situations seem to make him nervous and fearful?

THANK YOU FOR REPLYING. I DID MEAN DOES NOT SOCIALIZE WELL WITH PEOPLE. JUST ABOUT ANYTHING MAKES HER SHAKE AND START TO SNORT. COMING IN FROM GOING TO THE POTTY. SHE HAS TO BE NEXT TO TIFFANY ALL THE TIME. SHE GETS REALLY NERVOUS IF TIFFANY IS NOT IN HER SIGHT. I JUST GOT THEM A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, THE LADY THAT GAVE THEM TO ME WAS NOT ABLE TO SPEND A LOT OF TIME WITH THEM. AND SHE KEPT THEM IN A GARAGE. TIFFANY IS FINE SHE IS VERY FRIENDLY AND LOVES TO BE AROUND PEOPLE, BUT POOR LITTLE COCO JUST HIDES UNDER A TABLE OR CHAIR. I HAVE TRIED TO CUDDLE HER AND BRUSH HER. BUT THE WHOLE TIME I AM HOLDING HER SHE IS CONSTANTLY LOOKING FOR TIFFANY AND AS SOON AS SHE IS UNABLE TO SEE HER, SHE WANTS DOWN TO LOCATE HER.

Well, the good news is that its not too late...its just a bit more difficult once they are adults because they are not as accepting to new things/people as young puppies are. Its sad to see a dog so nervous and fearful but I think with time, patience and socialization things will improve.
Tiffany is probably the only thing familiar to her at this point (which is probably why she gets nervous when Tiffany is out of sight) but I think once Coco gains your trust and adjusts to her new surroundings she will be fine even when Tiffany is out of her sight.
Once she is comfy in her new home I would start slowly introducing them to new things, people, other animals, ect. It would also be beneficial to take them to socialization classes if you can find any trainers/behaviorists that offer them in your area. Best of luck.

I was going to say what Nern said...she needs some time to get used to you and realize you are nothing to be scared of... and get used to her surroundings also. My mum has a very timid dog who shakes & snorts when she is scared or over excited, life is just a bit scary for her. I used to live with her and I adore her and I used to give her all the love in the world- I just accepted that she was that way and loved her. She doesn't sound as bad as coco though....
Remember not to reinforce the fear she has of any thing/object by picking up and cuddling her and comforting her if she is afraid, this just tells her it's ok & good to be afraid. You just have to act noramlly and show her there's nothing to worry about.
Good luck with your bonding!!
