This is off-topic, but since I posted about it before I figured I'd give a quick update.

I spent about 3 hours one night last week driving around posting signs - one for Beaker (my friend's cat) and one for Blanco (the dog that I had to rehome).

Surprisingly enough, I have received five calls about the cat, and none for the dog! I thought it would be the other way around. Unless it's because I used the little tab things you can tear off with my name and phone number with the cat's poster and not the dog's....?

Anyway, only one of the five calls was an unacceptable home (in my opinion). The one that was my first choice never got back to me when I called to set up a time for them to meet the cat. Of the other three, two have a whole menagerie, and one was a stay-at-home mom with a 4-year-old son (and a husband) and no other indoor pets.

I had her and her son meet Beaker and he was scared, but I think he will be okay. I talked with her a lot and she seems good - they once moved for the sole reason that the landlord would no longer let them keep their cat - so they moved away and kept the cat. They recently lost him and she said the house has been empty ever since. She talked about how she called her vet to find out how to help Beaker adjust to the new home, and this was before she even knew if she would be the one I selected.

I will call and check up on him in a few days and again in a week or two, but hopefully this will work for him!

I already miss the little guy.

***edit***She just called me. She said he quieted down just fine in the car. And when she got him home, he immediately went to her husband and plopped down in his lap. I wondered if he would take to a man, since he has been with a man all his life, with only occasional visits from women. He ate and drank and used his litterbox. I think this is going to work!

I am so happy to hear of the outcome, I know worriedyou were how he would adjust if he found a new home and it sounds like he was the perfect family. An regarding the tag thing, could very well be, sinc eit is much easier to just rip the number then tryin to find something to write with.

I would agree with Maisey, - is athere anyway to set up a camera and could there be something he is after? Wylie is not a digger and never in her life has she dug anything, (she is 6 years old) then one day I come home to find garden almost completely destroyed. I am thinking what the heck. I cleaned it and 2 days later it is all dug up again, and am thinking oh no whay are startng this. Well the next morning my hsuband went out and she had what she was after - a nasty mole that she had in her mouth. We got rid of a mole and she hasnt dug since.

oh and you can rent cameras real cheap if you cant borrow one. I htink you need to get to the root cause before trying any drastic measures since this is something that has occurred out of the blue.
