Hello I have a 5 month old german sheapord mix named moka. I have had her for just about three months now, and ive noticed a bald patch on the bottom side of her mouth. Its bin there for quite a while now and it dosnt seem to be bothering her at all. but then its not growing hair back eithor. Everything that i have found when ive looked for answers on this always have some other symptoms, like scratching or black skin or flakes or just something, but this is just a bald spot. im wondering if there is something causeing it or if it is just something from puppy hood before i got her or what. thankyou for reading this natasha and moka IP: Logged |

Hi, When you say "the bottom side of her mouth" do you mean just below her 'lip'? In another post you say you play frisbee with her... Floob has a little bald bit where he tried picking his frisbee up off gravel and scratched it. After the scab fell off (which I wasn't aware of as it must've been the same colour as him) it's left red/pink scar tissue. The only thing I could think of was that one time and him trying to get his frisbee off the floor. Just a thought, maybe yours has the same thing. IP: Logged |

im sure it wasnt the frisbee thing. she had it before we started going to the feild to play. its bin there for the last two months where ive known about it. the only thing that i have found that even closly gives me a reason for her having it is fleas causing bald patches but i havent seen a flea on her. It also isnt scar tissue. its like she was shaved in that area and little spots around it. the skin dosnt even look irritated at all. natasha and moka dog IP: Logged |

Justins, I would take her in to the vet and ask him to take a look, it may be something like demodex mange. I recently transported a dog for a rescue who had this, it just looked like her collar had rubbed a bald spot to me..but once in rescue they recognized it and the vet confirmed it. IP: Logged |
