Look at the e-mail that is floating around work: "Hi, my name is XXXXXXXXX. I am a student here at XXXXXXXX, as well as work at XXXXXXXX. I have an adorable puppy that I can no longer take care of. He is 15 weeks, 2 days. He is a mix: lab/Stafford Shire Terrier. He is already spaded, and as two sets of puppy shots (he still needs his last set, which I would be happy to get done for you). XXXXXXX is a great dog, but I do not have time for him being a full time student and only 6 hours shy of a full time employee. He needs a loving home where he can run around and play. If you can help, please e-mail me. I can send pictures!!"

That just kills me....if you are a full time student working 30+ hours a week, what in the @$*& would make you think you could handle a puppy? This story sounds similar to the way we got Cameron- my friend wanted a puppy SO bad, and saw the petstore online where Cameron's from and thought the puppies were just SOOO cute she had to have one....she didn't even stop to think about all the work a puppy is, and how little time she had to care for Cameron. I mean, in that situation I'm glad she made the mistake because now Cameron's mine , but it just drives me insane how people just up and decide to get a puppy one day- like a new TV or something, and then can't handle the responsibility. People have been so hard on you, but I would like to remind them that you are responsible enough to get his shots and neutered. You are also trying to find a good home for him. Which shows you care more about his well being than your happiness. You could have always dropped him off at the shelter (please don't ever do this) but instead you are trying to ensure he is taken care of. I say good for you. IP: Logged |
