My dobe is very playful and excited if he is simply awake, he loves to play with my boy(4yrs) and they make for great entertainment, however for the past 5-7 days he will limp around and rest, however durring this same period he runs jumps(and I do mean JUMP!) and plays like normal, but when walking is when you notice a limp, nothing in his paw, no cuts, no marks, no yelping when I go from shoulder to toe nails looking for soft spot. Anyone have any ideas?

how old is the dobie? My Shepherd started limping on a front leg and it is arthritis in her wrist. You could try to see if your dog will let you flex the "wrist". If he won't it's probably the painful area. Don't let him bounce around and play so much (easier said than done I know) for a few days and see if the limp goes away.

Pano is a possibility too. There are so many things it could be, a vet check would be the best way to get an answer. My pup hyperextended his elbows when he was about 8 months old, luckily I saw the accident so I was aware of what caused it. It took forever to heal...the vet said it was just like "tennis elbow" in people. It could be an injury or something like pano, you won't know for sure until a vet looks...and that doesn't always mean expensive X-rays..my vet was able to tell what was going on by watching him move and manipulation and simply prescribed rest and asprin.
