Hi!

My name is Victoria Alessandra and I have joined this forum looking for your ideas and advice.

I volunteer at an animal cancer foundation, The Perseus Foundation. We are dedicated to finding the causes and cures of cancer in our beloved animal friends by raising funds for cancer research. In addition, we provide a wealth of information through our awareness programs.

During the month of May, we are hosting a "Dance for a Cure" in the DC area. Funds will not only benefit cancer research but will also help to assist those who need additional funding to pay for cancer treatment (including non toxic novel treatment forms.)

We are looking for ideas on how to decorate a gym. The gym is not very pretty, but it holds 300 people, it has a stage area for our DJ and silent auction.

Any thoughts would be warmly received and greatly appreciated. We are trying to make this a very special event, and as such, we would love for the gym to look really cool!

Thank you so much.

Victoria

Victoria,
Good luck with your event. One idea is to see if you can get a local plant nursery to loan you a bunch of trees and other plants in containers. They might even deliver and pick them back up after your event providing you get some volunteers to load and unload them. You can place plastic bags under them to protect the floor.
You could even solicit donations to "sponsor a plant" for the decorations and put a tag on the tree recognizing that sponsor. Of course you must recognize the nursery in your program and through signs if you find one who will loan you the plants. Let us knoe how it turns out.
