6 week old puppy should still be with its mother. Many states it's illegal to either sell or give away a puppy or kitten before it is 8 weeks old. So sad that people do otherwise.

I've never had a puppy that young...but I would set a schedule. Many people free feed but if the dog doesn't eat the food for hours and hours you'd have to throw it away.

Hi try feeding 4-5 small meals spaced throughout the day also a substitute milk should be given you can buy this from any petstore or vet.

At 6weeks old they still should be with there mother though not feeding off her all the time.

By the time your puppy is 8weeks old he/she should be eating 4 small meals a day.
