my dog stopped eating before she passed away, some days she would eat, some days she wouldn't. Maybe, you could try feeding through a syringe, if it won't hurt his stomach. 17 years old! wow, that must be some dog. my dog only lived to be 14, but she was arthritic, and always sickly, but she was a sweet little girl

Hi! I'm sorry to hear that, but then 17 is a long life for a dog. So he must have been taken very good care of, that speaks well of your step Father! I don't know what you should do, I'm sorry! (maybe pedialite with a turkey baste) I wish I could be more help..does he still drink water? something has to be keeping him going...Love! I'm sure...

He's drinking plenty of water. Mom said last night that John had to pick him up to put him in his house. They fed him last night some cooked hamburger meat with bacon and eggs in it. He laped up the juice but that was about it.

Poor ol' guy. He's such a sweetie. He's been run over 4 times in his life! Yet he never quit running out to greet the cars that pulled up to our place. Everyone is going to be devistated when he passes. I have a feeling when Mom and John get home from work, he'll be gone.
Its expected, but still hard to deal with.

I'm so sorry to hear he's not doing well. My thoughts are with you.
