Hello All!
First off Chester is completely recuperated from the Parvo. However, now I have another problem . I introduced him to my little brother's dog who is a 2 year old Dauchsun Weenie dog (Shadow). I bring Shadow into our screenroom (Chester's Home) when I go play with Chester so that they feel equality. I have noticed that Chester is always trying to mount Shadow. At first I thought they were playing but them Chster started growling and I actually heard him bark for the first time. Shadow is really timid and just kind of tries to run away. I was just wondering if this is normal? Should I get onto Chester or just let them establish boundaries themselves?

Mounting can be a sign of dominance, or it might be just plain play. I would let them establish their own boundaries, but NEVER leave them unattended so you can step in if it gets out of hand.

Treating dogs equally does not necessarily work. If one is clearly dominant and the other submissive, then you trying to "even things out" can lead to worse problems. Acknowledging the pack order is a better way to go, for both dogs.
