My Arthur has and on going battle with ear problem I was wondering if anyone here has used
OtiFoam Ear Cleanser or Leo Ear Cleaner.
Yes we have been to the vet two, three, four, times no mites possible yeast and they flush and clean and cream, We don't usually do drugs and such products with our guys but the basic herbal is not working, it clears and comes back in a week or two. We are thinking of having his ears buttoned so we can put them up when they get bad Or a long time friend shaves a small amount of hair off each ear and then glues Velcro steps on with the glue used on open cut for people.(air dries ears out).

Have you tried Thornit ear powder. www.championpets.co.uk
ever since we started using it nearly a year ago my poodle has no ear problems. Click on online store and there it will be in the list of ten top selling products. You don't need to do all that stuff to your dogs ears. Just a light dusting with this pwder twice a month will work. Check it out.
My poodle does not get wax anymore with the powder it kills off bacteria that would cause a yeast infection and also kills mites. No bacteria, no wax.

My dog has the earmite/yeast infection problem. I have found that if you regularly stick a folded/twisted Kleenex into the ear and sort of move it around, it will pick up a lot of the moisture that is in the ear making it less likely to have problems.

I don't know of any products, other than some cleaning solution stuff I bought from the vet. epi-otic i think was the name.

I have used Thornit ear powder too and it works miracles... Cupcake and Cookie (my yellow and chocolate lab) havent had any ear infections or excess wax in almost 4 months.. I dont know if it works as well on all types of dogs, different dogs may have different reactions.. i dont know.. but its worth a shot!

Used the powders and ended up having to soak the ear to soften up the wax. The powder dried the wax and formed a plug in his ear. A long time herbalist that we know suggested mint and oil to make wax run out and then a few days later flush with vinegar mint mix. It seems to be I am making a salad mix. I am leaning towards the foam but am concerned about the effects of it on the ear (pressure) don't want to damage his ear drum. Pyrs are known for this problem with those big floppy ears. Had blood tests done and they came back ok cell count very good. Over all health great he is only 6 years old (rescue boy we found). Used the whole gamut of flushes, need to make the wax real soft some how ( I feel).Open to your thoughts folks.

Does that Thornit powder only work if the ears are clean to begin with? One of my cats has ear wax plugging both ears, and the vet said they needed to anaesthetize her to flush them out. There has to be a better way!

I would clean the wax first. After you do that then apply the thornit powder and I can almost guarantee the wax will not come back. My poodle always got that nasty brown wax in her ears, was prone to infection. I've been using the powder for about a year now and she has now wax. No infections. You only need a little bit in each ear. Maybe once a month use an ear was to prevent any powder build up. There have ben cases of people putting too much of any ear powder products in a dogs ear and causing deafness I believe. I swear by this stuff too.!!! It comes in a little botle but it last a long time. I bought two. I'm not certain about the use of it on cats. It is a possiblity. I don't have a cat otherwise I would have looked into it.

I just went to the site and it says kitties cats can use it also.
