I have a problem with my dalmation shedding. Her fur gets on everything and it's hard to remove. Does any one else have this problem and if so is there a problem with the dog or is it just their breed.

I need some HELP.

Assuming there are no sores on the skin and no redness from allergies and does not suffer from stress of some kind.
You would have to look at all kinds of cause's from a simple dryness from house heat to carpet, floor cleaner to diet. When you brush your dog and wipe your hand does it come back coated with dry skin. How often do you bath her and what do you use? I have a Jack that sheds a lot unless we brush her and oil the hair and add oil or fat to her diet (Linatone Plus and Missing link.) You will find most short hair dogs have this problem but a good daily brushing well help a lot. Don't waste your money on soft brush get a good wire one and use it easy, soft gentle strokes back brushing the hair first.I have seen people over the years rake a dog to the point the skin bleeds.
Just a thought...hope it helps....

2pyrs: has given good advise. Also making sure you are giving your dog an excellent kibble would do wonders for his coat too. Though dogs that shed are going to shed. Just not as bad. Shedding dogs do need daily brushing. There are many good premium foods out there. We give our dogs Innova. It has stopped my terrier from scratching all the time. Done wonders for my poodle also.

We use shedding blades on smooth coated breeds. When bathing, if you lather em up and use the shedding blade you might be amazed how much dead coat they loose. It works great after the final rinse and on a dry coat too. You can get them cheaper at a livestock store as opposed to a pet store.

Two words for you: SHEDDING BLADE. This tool is a wonder. I looked at it and LAUGHED and could not understand how it could possibly do anything. It is the tear drop shaped blade...looks like a little saw bent in half to look like a tear drop. It works WONDERS on short haired breeds. Once you get the flick of the wrist down..the hair will FLY off the dog and your house will be MUCH more hair free. The "shedless" package they sell at Petco grooming is simply an extra hour of brushing with this tool for shorthaired dogs. (the "hour" usually means about 15 minutes btw...do NOT pay for this service as it is a waste of money for what you get)

it is very easy to see if your dal has skin problems they will almost always surface. as for shedding i have 4 dalmatians and im not sure if your know this but there are tiny barbs on the ends of a dalmatians hair and they will stick to everything. i cant tell u to try givin the dog a vitimin E capsule on its food everyday this will help with a dry coat and make ur dogs great look wonderful it may help with the shedding. also try to find an all natural dog food we have found that by feeding our dals an all natural dog food it has cut down ALOT on their shedding.
Good luck
