Well, the Petstore owner did respond-- he was very thorough and adamant about the quality of his petstore- he provided me with his vet's name and number, the local humane society number, and the kennel name and number. I called the kennel owner- he was very nice as well, and gave me lots of information, most of which is on this website which I am giving you the link to. Look over the sight and let me know what you think.... Now I feel like I was too rash, maybe making accusations where they weren't deserved. The owner said that the reason that my coworker gave him for returning the puppy was that it "nipped" too much and was a little wild and they weren't ready to handle a puppy. He even forwarded the e-mail that said this. Maybe she just didn't want to tell me the truth because she thought I would disapprove of her returning the puppy. Also, like M.Kela said, he said the diariah was due to stress from being in a new home and usually goes away in a few days. But still, that doesn't explain why Cameron has had on/again off again soft stool since she was a puppy, or why the other puggle I met from there had had almost constant diariah from day one and had had cherry eye in both eyes. Was this just a coincidence? I feel bad now that I insulted his business so hastily. Anyway, look at the kennel sight and let me know what you think. Hi puggle, Freebie had cherry eye, he had surgery to correct it but, my vet told me it was heretary (spelling) that it will sometimes skip a generation. I had never heard that before! Anyway that could be the cause of cherry eye in the dog. I'll go now and look at the site... PS. that was great that they were so helpful to you! And it does sound like your friend was afraid to tell you the truth, but who knows! Susan IP: Logged |

I didnt know that cherry eye was common in pugs or beagles (that IS what a puggle is right?? lol ) Ive only heard of it in bulldogs and chihuahuas. Cherry eye isnt something they catch tho...I think its genetic. My first guess would that the diarrhea would just be from a weak stomach...my poodle can eat anything in the world and not get diarrhea....feed my chihuahua a half a french fry and he'll be runny for days. Anyways.....hopefully it will work out. It doesnt sound to me like the pet store is horribly at fault here....stores dont allow returns of puppies for any reasons other than the health reasons because of the number of people that abused the other policy. People would be trying to "rent" dogs...and its not healthy for the dogs to go to one home..come back..go to another...etc. If you ever do buy from a pet store..know that you're not going to be able to "change your mind". Anyways..I hope that the little puggle gets all fixed up =) Not every puppy is born healthy and it can be the breeder/stores fault but even healthy dogs and healthy situations have unlucky dogs. Good luck! And lets see some pictures! IP: Logged |
