Thanks for all your help last night, really appreciate it. Now can you advise me again? Scamp (8wks) is on a bland diet for a few days whilst settling in, we've been giving white fish, chicken, and rice, with some scrambled egg, as advised. Now he's been trying to steal my daughter vegetables (broccoli, cali, and carrots). We don't give him scraps, but I'm happy to cook them for him if he can have them, any advise? should we say no? or give him some? will it upset his stomach again? IP: Logged |

I feed my dogs veggies and its done them know harm but each dog is different like my dogs have thers diced and slighly boiled so they still crunchy but oother owners prefer to have them soft boiled and pulped down as most dogs dont chew there food and just swallow so the veggies come out the same way they went in so to speak. But its upto the owner if you want to feed veggies try small amounts and if they dont agree with him then dont give them again most complete foods these days have veggies in. mike. IP: Logged |

My dogs love raw veggies, I do grate them up if it is to be part of their meal, but if it's just a treat, I will toss them a chunk of broccoli or carrot...whatever it is. In the FOOD FOR THOUGHT thread there is a link to a chart of vegetables and fruits dogs can have, how much and how to prepare. For instance, dogs can have apple, but not the core. IP: Logged |
