I just thought I'd share my new "treat" that I give Cameron to keep her occupied when she is bored or when I am trying to relax myslef without a dog pouncing on me Anyway, she goes through greenies like nothing, and I don't want to give her too many, but I found something better and cheaper!

I take the Kong that is shaped like a funnel, with a little opening on top and a bigger opening at the base, and put just a little liver flavored kong stuffer in it. Then, I take an ice cube out of the icemaker (it has to be the icemaker kind cause the square ones don't fit), and stuff it into the big end of the kong until it is all the way inside (it barely fits but is in there very snuggly) and then put just a touch more stuffer on top of the icecube.

I give this to Cameron and it takes her forever to get this icecube out, and often times she just keeps licking it until it melts enough for her to get to the stuff inside. An added bonus is that this is very cheap- compared with spending 2.00 per greenie, this is only like .30 because the entire kong stuffer container costs 5.00, and I can get lots of uses out of it! Just an idea for those of you with dogs that chew through any bone in minutes- I'm not sure if many of you do this already, but I just thought I'd let you know just in case!

Kongs are great toys when stuffed with anything. That rubber material is indestructable, even for a Lab. I cram regular small chew bones into them as tightly as possible. Both boys have fugured out that the best way to get the chews out is to bounce the Kong on a hard surface. I've heard putting peanut butter into one will occupy a dog for hours. Don't worry about the mess, Kongs are dishwasher safe.

I put some of the liver spray in first, then some treats, then stuff peanut butter in until it is full and freeze the whole sucker. It still takes Nala only about 10 minutes to get through it, though.

Maybe I need to try to pack it tighter. Or try the ice cube method.

Yeah Kong stuffers-filler-uppers...
I've been wanting to get a new toy that i could play w/ my boys.
I've been "kinda" looking for a type of "tug" toy, where i could play with them too. Something that stretches would work.
Like the rubbery rope they finally destroyed worked well for a l o n g time.
I was thinking of just replacing it w/ the same thing, but i'd like to try something new. I sure they would too.
ANY SUGGESTIONS???
