I've recently spoken to my gilfriend about Horris mounting Missy and printed it out for her to read herself. But now Horris seems to be doing it more often. Should she dissaplin this little puppy for being 'so rude', (good friend I am, I sit there and laugh at this little dude)???? She also has a three year old daughter and she has tried to sit her down and speak to her about it, but she doesn't seem to understand......Because she's always asking ' mum, why is horris doing that to missy'........ I try and sit there with a straight face but i can't help it...... What can she do?? Jody IP: Logged |

For one thing, I would just tell her daughter that they are playing, LOL. It can't hurt to tell the pup "No" for mounting behavior. I would just say "No" in a quiet, low voice (calmly), make a loud noise to startle him, and then redirect him to more appropriate behavior - perhaps toss a ball or something to distract him. How old is the pup? He is probably plenty old to get him neutered - I would do it and see if it helps.

Like jamiya said, saying firmly "no" and distracting him is your best bet.... Until you can get him neutered.... As for the child...just tell her/him the pup is playing... IP: Logged |
