Hi, My Sister, brother in-law and neice are moving to the coast by where I live. The problem is: my neice has a Beagle/australian sheperd mix that is the sweetest dog ever. But! where they live now has a huge back yard and a dog run, but where they are moving is much smaller, and the dog won't get much excersize. They do walk him, but he's not very good on a leash when he see's another dog, he goes nuts trying to get to it. They don't have the money for a trainer, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good video trainer that would help my neice to train him with? She's real leary of walking him, and could use some good advise. I would send him to a trainer myself, but I simply can't afford it. Any suggestions would be wellcomed! I did look up video trainer's but there are so many to choose from. Thanks! Susan IP: Logged |

Anything by Ian Dunbar would probably be really good. Check out this site: http://apdt.com/trainers-and-owners/books-and-videos.htm#videos-owners The Association of Pet Dog Trainers has a "Top 10" list of training videos for new dog owners. Sirius Puppy Training by Ian Dunbar is one of the videos on the list. [This message has been edited by nern (edited 01-24-2004).] IP: Logged |

I would reccommend anything by Mary Ray, she is brilliant, she is the lady that does the dancing with dogs before Best in Show at Crufts!!, if you go to www.dogsinaction.co.uk there is a link to her web page and a link to buy the videos. IP: Logged |
