Witt developed this bump on the inside of his ear leather about two weeks ago. At first it was just a bump, not really any color to it. It's hard and doesn't seem to hurt him if I push on it. While him and Dooley were playing it got scraped and now there is a little scab on top of it. I'm not sure if this is a 'watch it and see thing' or if I should take him into the vet. I have the feeling the vet will just tell me to watch it. What do you all think?

Hi Maisey, I'm pretty sure that if were cancer or something like that, it would have a funny shape and color. It looks just like a skin colored bump too me. If it were me, I would just keep an eye on it for awhile, if it changes colors or shape, take him in. But that's just me.

Hope he's o.k.! keep me posted please.

Susan

I also would put peroxide on it, or some kind of antibiotic cream. Susan

it looks like there is puss in it. it doesnt look serious but if you take him to the vet they might try and drain it or give you a cream for it.

You know, it looks kind've like a boil, but that may just be because it is scabbed over and has turned red!

Hi
I'd take him to the vet. He may just have something like a splinter buried that needs popping out so it can heal.
Best to get things checked if they haven't gone within a few days I always think.

The bump is hard like cartlidge, I tried squeezing it. it doesn't give at all. It didn't get red on top until it got scraped during play. At first I thought because of the trouble we had before with Witt's ears and hematomas..that thats what it was, but it doesn't feel the same at all.

My dog has a bump like that on her side. Two vets looked at it and they both said it was like a wart or something. Either way, it wasn't anything serious. She has had it over a year now.

Maisey, I'd take him to the vet just to be sure.

My poo gets bumps every once in awhile. It looks similar to hers. With her it was both times one of those hard pimply things that just needed to work itself up to the surface. Keep your eye on it, if it gets bigger take him to the vet. Sasha's took a few moths to work itself out then no more bump. Could also be an ingrown hair follicle.

Not yet...it isn't bothering him and the scab off the top is about to drop. I'm kind of watching it to see what it does. Friday I had an emergency at work and my vet won't be there tomorrow, so I'm just watching.
