Abby was the resuced Rat Terrier/Beagle Mix. She had 8 puppies. They were all around 2-3 ouces a peice!! They all found their homes before Thanks giving of last year. Charllotte is 4 and her puppies were all home at the end of November. Smokey is 3. He's just a goof. And Alex the cockatiel is only 2. THe goat on the otherhand is still a HUGE Baby. He doesn't realize he's a goat. We saved him when he was born. The mother just up and left when he hit the groud. She didn't even clean him off. SOooooo he's our dog that Baaaa's... Oh and the Shiner pup I'm holding is My sister Amandas and her Boyfriend Damons. He's a full Beagle. a 13" if I'm not mistaken. He's a holly terror!!! Did the little white pups change colors as they grew? Or did they stay mostly white?

A True heeler is born white. Their grey or red begins to come in at abou 4 wks and is finished by 6 months. The only colors on the pups are the black masks. Black is the only color that doesn't grow in diffrent colors. This suposively originated back in the 1800's in Australia. They bred a Dingo with a Kelpi tomake a good hardy cattle dog. Well it was a great and hard dog, but the dogs often didn't listen, or loyal to their masters. So they bred in a Dalmation to the cross. Thats why they are born white. Many people have heelers and theya re born with other colors. Thats how you can tell that there are faults in the blood line and are not true heelers. OVer the generations many attempts have been made to make the Heelers better. Only the true Australian Heelers are recognized as the Australian Cattle Dog, or BLue heeler. There are some that are Red Heelers as well. They are just red instead of Blue. Beautiful, loyal and loving dogs, withendless energy and a strong herding instinct. I'll post a photo of one of the pups at 1 day, 1 wk. 4 wks. and 8 wks. You'll see the great change an dhow beautiful it is. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the info! There was a little dog at Nala's agility class last night that looked like a blue heeler. But it was small, and I swear it must be part coyote or something. That dog was trouble for Nala. Nala couldn't control herself around her, and she actually started barking at her after a while. While Nala has trouble behaving around any dog, it was the worse with this one! Your doggies are beautiful. I can't wait to see the puppy pics!

Nala is about 35-40 pounds. This other little dog was smaller. I wouldn't guess she was over 20 pounds.
