It's snowing where I live too!! I live in Oregon. We have about 5 inches of snow and an inch of ice on top of the snow!! It's only 24 degrees here right now. I could probably ice skate in my backyard! LOL.

I'm here! I have just had the kids and my husband home all week, under foot! We have been playing alot in the snow and doing fun stuff like roasting hotdogs in the fireplace.
It's been soooooo cold! We have alot of snow and now ice on top of that, the dogs tried to go out to potty this morning and skated clear across the yard, LOL. They were bewildered. I love weather like this, I get all excited like a little kid.

Here are a couple pictures of the dogs playing in the snow.

Dooley & Witt

Witt

Dooley

This picture looks like Dooley is about to attack me...in reality, he is howling and complaining to me because I put him on a sit/stay so I could take his picture and he KNOWS Witt is going to get his basketball!

We have not lost power. but we are prepared if we do. I think if it's going to happen, it'll be when the trees get too heavy with ice and the limbs or whole trees come down on power lines. Another worry I guess is when the melt hits and the ground is so saturated the trees topple. We have been just fine, playing board and card games, baking cookies, all my laundry is done (lol)and I have been able to do some stuff like take down the kitchen curtains and wash them...you know the little cleaning things that always get put off when you are busy.

Oh Maisy, I hope it doesnt rain, that is what happened to us last week, we got 2 feet of snow and then a downpour and and then more snow. It was so scary, you would walk outside and just hear snap, snap all over because the oak trees couldnt handle the weight of the snow, let alone the rain after i that made the snow weigh a ton so we lost our power for 2 days, it looked like a war zone with so many downed trees around. I then had to try to keep the dogs out from under the trees in our yard because of this. But it is so much fun to play in!

There are currently about 58,000 PGE customers without power, we have been lucky so far. It looks like things are warming up a bit. We have firewood, candles, a propane cook stove and several oil lamps, so if we lose power we will be ok. I worry more about the trees surrounding our property falling on our house or vehicles. We have a 150 year old cottonwood tree in out backyard and the neighbors have a huge fir tree that overhangs our driveway. If either one comes down..somebodys house is gonna get it.

Ohh! I wish it would snow here! Everytime it gets cold enough, the rain decides to move on! We are thinking about wetting the patio and letting it freeze over night, then Ranger can at least get to experience it a little! Our last dog, an aussie, I bet experienced snow only 5 or 6 times, since we lived in Dallas all of her 15 years!

Cute Pictures!!! I live in Portland too!! My dog Megan doesn't really dig the snow though. I will post some pictures of her in the snow as soon as I can find the camera... I don't know where it went! LOL.
