Sadly, my husband and I must return to work tommorrow after two weeks off, and poor Cameron, who has been so spoiled in having us around her 24/7, has to return to her old routine of being alone during the day. I feel bad because I know how much she loves having us around- it makes her so happy Anyone else in a similar situation?

Yes....so I bought another dog to keep mine company =D I used to work at a vet where I could bring my dogs with me. Now that i dont...she has a playmate!

Other suggestions are heating pads...old clothes that smell like you...an influx of new toys...TV or Radio on.....Record your voice on your computer and loop it to play while you are gone in the room with the dog. Just some ideas of mine =)

Ohh yeah, that would be me too .

Except i'm going to school (Winter Session).
It's either gonna be Chemistry, or Biology.
I'm seriously favoring the Biology for now.

It's only for one month, but it's gonna take up a lot of my time from my boys along w/ trying to work a part-time job.

I wish i could be w/ my boys all the time!
IT SUCKS... but i gotta....

As far as my boys... I know my Bulldog is going to hate me for having to put him out in the cold at 7:30 in the morning. He'll most likely just lay around inside their dog house and try to stay warm. Or probably sit in the suns rays.
My Pei will probably hate me for it too. But he actually does better against cold situations/temperatures. He'll probably adjust to the situation easier than my Bully.
He'll probably keep himself occupied by trying to find a way to get to the neighbors female dogs. NOT happening though.

I R E A L L Y hope this session goes by quickly, and that i Ace the class !!!

Hello! Yes, we're back too and we picked up Nala from the kennel yesterday. She had a blast! She LOVED playing with the other doggies, and I also feel bad that instead of getting to play today she will be in her crate. She had a very restless night last night - she slept in a larger kennel at the boarding kennel (in a heated outbuilding) and I'm sure she is not used to be so confined anymore. I am trying to figure out how we could do an ex pen or something similar.

I wonder if she is sad at having to exercise her house manners again. We are still having the cat-chasing problem, and she was SO hyper when we got her home yesterday she was jumping all over us. I think she grew! After almost two weeks of getting to play however she wants with other doggies, she is probably annoyed at being on the leash and following rules.

She used to be soooo sleepy during the day because she was used to being in her crate. I guess she will get back into the pattern, but I still feel bad.

I am also considering another doggie. The lady who owns the boarding kennel (well lives there, actually) told me Nala got along very well with a stray dog she took in a few months ago. He is a big guy - 75 pounds - but he knows some obedience and starts obedience school today. He is housebroken. I am considering it, but I am also considering fostering a Golden. And I am also wondering if two dogs would drive my husband to divorce me!

I have also considered another medium-sized dog. I originally wanted a big dog, but Nala's size is kind of nice, and a big dog would eat so much more! We might end up in the poor house.

Aww soo sad, going back to work...unfortnately for me. I've been working every day since before Christmas with the Year End Reporting.
I only got Christmas day off.....I've been here for 12-14 hrs. every day, not to meantion the 2 hr drive here and back again.

The only thing that keeps me going, is seeing those big 'ol eyes and whole boddies wagging when I get home! They welcome me with such happiness, that I can't resist, letting out a deep breath and sinking into thier love and affection and forgetting the long hours... I don't know what I'd do with out them.
Not to meantion that "daddy" is missing me as well. He told me last night in bed, if this lasted any longer him and the dogs were going to go nuts!

We are going through the same thing. Ugghh back to the grind eh? Hope everyone survived their first Monday back. We treated Max by letting him not be in his crate today. HE DID GREAT! I picked up any possible danger in the house. (back to that my house has never been so clean thing...) He didn't chew anything or eliminate anywhere! Although he did move the recliner next to the window . I guess we should all be thankful we have jobs to keep our furkids fed and healthy.
