hey Im new here, and registered here to think it would be the best place to talk about dogs and advice on themwell i have a question bout mastiffs, hopefully someone can help, i recently got a bullmastiff, and its 10 weeks right now, smart dog and seems intelligent, everything is fine except one thing, his front paws seem to be flat, the heelson his front paws(i think theyre bka Hocks) are off the ground just a little bit, and im wondering is this just a temporary thing as a puppy, so when they grow it just falls into place, and the front paws will be on their tippytoes?? i had brought him to the vet and the vet can't determine it since he still a puppy so would anyone know from first hand experience or anything?

Dogs are never like they are at 10 weeks....size..temperment...look...etc. I think it will definately straighten out with age. I'm not an expert but I think at 10 weeks old...there isnt much you know about a dog at all.

I really don't know much about Bullmastiffs but I just wanted to tell you that alot of people on this board tend to come here in the mornings and during the week. It will be OK. Check back tomorrow. There is plenty of good and helpful people on this board and I bet you will get some help tomorrow! Take care!

Hi,

the only thing i can suggest is if you are really worried, go to your vets, explain the problem and ask him/her to check your pup over. I hope everything is ok, keep us informed! The only other thing is to ring the breeder you had your pup from and ask them for advice but i think it would be best to go to your vet.

Good luck - Ozzy x

HI, At 10weeks old your puppys body is still growing bones and ligaments havent formed or strengthnd yet properly yet,
If your concerened to much a visit to your vet will help put your mind at rest.

I breed german shepherds and i still worry about anything that looks out of the ordinary.

Dont worry if you think that your vet might be funny if you keep visiting because you are worried but vets prefer you to keep in touch shows how responsible you are.

keep us posted of his progress.
