Hi,
Our puppy that was 4 weeks old just died yesterday of parvo. We know that we have to bleach everything. Can laundry detergent with bleach be used to launder blankets, towels and clothing?

Thank you for your advise.

Ann

I was in Home Depot yesterday and noticed some ZEP Antibacterial Disinfectant & Cleaner. I read on the label that it kills the Canin Parvovirus. Don't know much about it, but this may be an option...

My God who sold you a puppy at only 4 weeks old. that is awful the pups should never leave mom for 8 weeks. Do not get another pup righjt away wait because that can live in the ground for up to a year. unless you got an older pup that had all its first 3 shots already then you are asking for A REPEAT .But Bleach everything and lysol disinfect everything that can not be bleached. even bleach the back yard too.

ESPECIALLY the back yard. I feel so sorry for your loss. I too went through the same thing recently with a dog I adopted. I should have known better than to trust our local shelters. Many of the big city shelters and rescue groups dont take enough caution in their handling of animals so unfortunally....animals and people alike continue to suffer. Good luck to you.

It was only 4 weeks!!! OMG!!!
Whom ever you got that pup from needs their heads examined, it should have just gotten old enough to get a vac!!

I refused any of my pups to leave before 6weeks at the earliest, and I only let that one leave because it had to start training, and was already weaned (two of them weaned themselves at like 5 1/2 wks)...
The rest stayed until 7-8 wks, the last one left at 10.

If you have carpet grass, its going to be harder to get rid of in your yard, if not then you can delute the bleach with hot water, and spray your yard. The only thing is, your grass will brown a bit...
