I've done a lot of work looking for a good food to feed my dogs that is also inexpensive. I have a Dane a Standard Poodle and a chihuahua so with the exception of the latter...I go through a lot of food! I recently found and EXCELLENT brand which I wanted to share with you all. Trader Joes brand Lamb and Rice. (Actually...all their varieties are great) Not only is this food about 2 dollars cheaper than the "cheap petsmart food" for a 20 pound bag...its also made with better ingredients than any food on the petsmart/petco shelves. There is no corn in it (which is known to be a factor in some dogs dry skin) and there are NO byproducts of any sort. My dogs all love it as well. I know some of you are on those fancy diets of sorts but this recommendation is for those of you that buy generic brands you can find at petco..or are still feeding what your breeder fed the dog because you havent thought about it any further. Trader Joes isnt a nationwide chain I dont believe but the west coast and east coast should have some around and it is an EXCELLENT product. Bon Appetit! IP: Logged |

I did not know they have their own line of kibble. I have bought a box of treats that looked pretty good. We have a few trader Joes to choose from. I'm on the West coast. ------------------ IP: Logged |

I used to think that TJs was more expensive than regular grocery stores...its really actually cheaper. And with all the strikes going on in california...its nicer to go there than deal with people yelling at you as you try to go into albertsons =D IP: Logged |

It's a place called Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory; have you guys heard of it, it's kinda of a hush-hush thing.... So don't tell anyone i told yah IP: Logged |

I'm kinda finally discovering TJ's. Sure you gotta look a little harder for some things...but they're almost always cheaper! Plus you cant beat the constant free samples =) IP: Logged |
