Are Greenies ok for puppies w/ sensitive stomach? My puppy loves to chew on bones but she is also on Zantac right now so I want to be careful.

I use the denta bones instead. I've been told that the greenies can upset the stomachs of young dogs...

I am not sure if puppies can eat greenies. But my dog Megan LOVES greenies. I mean she really likes them!!! When she sees one in the pet store, she will pick it up with her mouth and carry it around the store, it is so cute! She will even get mad at me when I take it away so that I can pay for it!! My dog is 7 though, so I don't know if puppies can have greenies. My advice would be to ask the vet.

Denta bones are usually located right next to the Greenies in our stores. I think she would be fine eating the greenies...just watch her, if it seems to upset her tummy then discontinue giving it ot her for a while.

Well I get mine at Petsmart and Petco. They are usually in the treats section.

While we're on the subject, the problem that I've found with the dentabone vs greenies, because I'd actually rather give Cameron dentabones cause they're cheaper, is that the dentabones leave little green pieces all over the carpet that stain, and the greenies don't do this. Anyone else with a similar problem?

Do you mean the other way around? the greenies stain the carpet, not the dentabones?
Oh well, I give my older dog both. I haven't given either one to the puppy, so I don't know whether it is OK for them or not. I don't see why it wouldn't be. I just give them to the older dog to make her feel special (she likes it when the puppy doesn't get what she does). Also, my puppy tends to just swallow his food so I don't want to give him something too big; he apparently chews on everything except actual chew toys. Figure that out.

I think it's the other way around as well the denta bones are tan. They go faster than the greenies do, but once teddy spit up on the carpet after eating a greenie and it did stain the carpet. But he seems to prefer the greenies over the denta bones. I don't think the greenies made him spit up though, their were a few pieces of twig and leaves in the spit up so I'm sure that is what caused it.

Ok. Vet said that neither should hurt the dog, though the Greenies will stain just about everything, including their coats....
Denta bones are much more effective at removing tartar and build up on the dogs teeth, it has a low amount of floride to help their teeth and has something (I can't remember what he said) helps aid in stomach problems.
And the biggest benifit is that just one bone a week, will keep thier breaths fresh, bowel movements normal, and really clean their teeth.

He said not to give a dog more than one every 4-5 days. Too much can upset their stomaches.

THANKS for the info. I will try the Denta Bones. Hope she likes them.
Sounds like even w/ a sensitive stomach one a week will be ok!
