my new puppy Daxter (borded collie x satff) is 13 weeks old and he keeps chasing sonny one of aour two cats.
Mia our other cat put dax in his place from day one and now dax treats her with respect I think he sees her as the top dog!.
But sonny our other cat is a whole different ball game. sonny has never hissed at anyone or anything since we have had him (6yrs) he is very laid back! so dax thinks he can chase him jump on him and generally make his life hell. Sonny does try and stand up for hemself by boxing Dax around the ears, but he does not have his claws out so Dax thinks it is a game and gets even more excited.what should i do? I have put a stair gate up so the cats can go upstairs and daxter has a crate. will they just grow out of it? I worried someone will get hurt.
Thank you

Sounds just like Smokey and Charllotte, I think they are related to Alf.

Charlotte learned her lesson when the cat got her across the nose, Smokey however will kill one in a heartbeat, and we can't break him of it.

The best thing to do is keep them separated, or repremend the dog everytime you see him chasing or pestering the cat.

Try getting him more plush toys, and reward him for playing with them. He's still young, and has bordercollie in him.
Thats a herding dog, and they have strong will to herd everything. Obediance classes will help as well.
