Hubby and I took Jasper and Miah to the river today so we could sit and fish. The brother-in-law went for a swim and so did the dogs, we were having a good time, as you normally would when out doing things. I packed a nice little picnic for us all and I was hyped up all morning ready to go catch some fish. THe dogs were also in swimming as they both love to swim (but yet they still hate baths, haven't worked it out yet). A local had recently spotted my brother-in-law swimming and the dogs in swimming and he headed over to us to have a chat. He told us to be carefull as there had been a few siteings of sharks in the river. Hubby and the brother-in-law just shrugged it off and kept swimming. I pulled the dogs out straight away and would only let them go in just to get there paws wet. We soon packed up everything and went home and we still had a good day. The 6.00pm local news came on, and there on the TV screen was the 'sharks' that this local guy had been talking about that had been spotted in the 'same river' that we had been swimming in. The siteings of the sharks were only two days ago.......EKKKK! Not going back to that river again. AND hubby and brother-in-law will be listening to the locals next time. Jody IP: Logged |

Are those the Bull Sharks? I saw that on TV and they are supposed to be the deadlist shark. Everyone thinks it's the Great White, but it's actually the Bull Shark. The Great White is more popular but the deadliest is the bull shark. plus they have been known to servive quite well in Fresh Water. IP: Logged |

Yes they were bull sharks, which makes it even more scarier. I will definately be staying out of the river for sure and it was fresh water which we were swimming at. Close call alright, a little to close for my likeing..... Jody IP: Logged |
