I think that it is good that you took her to the vet! I think she might have just eaten something. Or maybe she is having an allergic reaction to her food? try to think back 10 days ago... did you switch foods, floor cleaners... did you get a new plant? Or maybe... could she be getting into something that she is eating? Just thoughts! I hope she gets better soon. I know how you feel... it's aweful! tina IP: Logged |

totally aweful! I cried taking her to the vet. That sad look you get. We have not switched her food (Iams puppy). The vet thought maybe plastic/ball in her tummy that moves when she eats (making her sick) and she can not pass anyway. I have to pick her up in an hour so I hope to know more. Thanks for your thoughts!! IP: Logged |

Well- please update... because I will be thinking of your pup! It could be a little ball or a coin... or something that is too big to pass or deteriorate in her stomach. I think the important thing is that she is in good hands now. Hopefully it's "fixable". Try to hydrate her as much as possible when the doc gives you the go! best, IP: Logged |

Picked Maddie up from the Vet last night....he saw (5 xrays) that she does have an iratation to the low part of the stomach. Calling it an ulcer at this time and treating her w/Zantac and ID Perscription food (for sensitive stomach). So far so good. No problem last night and nothing this morning. Keep your fingers crossed, hoping this is it. He did say if this food helps we can slowing move her back into her regular food after a week or so. IP: Logged |

So glad to hear she is feeling better. At least now you know what it is... and you can treat it! Good luck! tina IP: Logged |

So far so good...two days on sesitive food and zantac. Though she has limited her water intake. I almost wonder if she thinks that's what was making her sick and now doesn't want to drink. she does take ice cubes and is peeing. Should I be overly concerned? IP: Logged |

hi glad she is ok. As for drinking you can give her milk that has been watered down or a puppy substitute milk as if any animal does not get enough fluid they become dehydrated and can become ill. Giving her ice cubes is also good aslong as she is getting enough to make up a cup of water every couple of hours. PLease keep us posted of her progress and fingers crossed she makes a full recovery. mike. IP: Logged |

I had heard that dairy was not good for puppies/dogs? Is this true? IP: Logged |

Milk is ok for dogs and puppies aslong as it has been watered down as milk on its own can make them feel sick. I give my dogs watered milk when they are lactating if they dont get that i give them a substitute milk which is used for bottle feeding puppies it helps keep there milk flowing. mike IP: Logged |

Have you fed her any people food. I have a 7 year old cocker, Megan. Sometimes she gets sick after she eats some dog bones that arn't the kind that say "completely digestable" on them, or when she eats too much people food. I hope she gets better soon!! Good luck!! IP: Logged |

The only thing my dogs get that people eat is veggies and chicken, lamb beef things like that which have been cooked thoroughly. One of my bitches is very partial to chocolate and i know they say its harmful to dogs but she been eating it for years and i think it depends on the size of the dog and the amount they actually eat to wether it is harmful or not. Oh they also like to eat apples and banana's mike IP: Logged |

She is doing tons better!!! Still on vet Puppy food though...but it is staying down. I have not given her any "xtras" to speak of. I wonder if maybe the raw hide bones were to hard on her stomach??? Possible??? IP: Logged |
