Hi. About three years ago we got a chcolate lad and we had her by herself for almost the whole time but about 6 months ago we got another dog (mixed) and we put her also in the back yeard no matter what they can't be together we have to put one in the pin while one runs free and the other in the pin while the other runs free. Because when we let them out together they fight like crazy they take turns bitting each oher and trying to rip each other apart. Should we just let them fight or what? is there any way to let tkeep from fighting. I am sure they are infact fighting they draw blood and they yelp scream and growl at each other. I'm most postive they are fighting!

Are you sure that they are actually fighting.

Our black lab and king sheppard play in a way that look like they are being extremely vicious, but no one ever ends up seriously hurt.

If your not sure check over them after they have fought and see if you can see any damage.

I agree with Katerina. Are they REALLY fighting as in drawing blood and yelping and screaming? Lots of dogs play fight and use biting as a way of playing. They don't bite hard enough to hurt each other but just enough to play. I know when my two Huskies play it looks like a cross between a football game and a wrestling match and my friends have been in awe of it. We are used to it but at first we were like "Oh my gosh, are they hurting each other?" and "What is going on?" This might be the case. I know when introducing a new dog to the family, it should be done first on neutral turf and then done in the home over a gradual amount of time. Did you do this at first?

Hi, I also agree with what was said. I have a male lab 1yearold and a 3 year old female red nosed pit and you would think they were trying to kill each other with all the biting and growling. The lab grabs the skin on the pits face and pulls and pulls at first I was startled but they are just playing. They are so loud I am scared my neighbors are going to think I am having dog fights in my apt. If they are not drawing blood or yelping in pain it should be fine, some dogs just really play very hard. Good Luck

I just lost one of my dogs to a vicious attack and fight. Not even 5 hrs ago.
Defianately make sure they are fighting, they may just be playing, but if not, then keep them separated. They can do major damage to eachother.

You can try socializing them slowly by keeping them both on a leash and introducing them that way. Give both an equal amount of attention, and let each have their own stuff.
