HI.Yeah this is normal behaviour for a first time mum i have to say i think most women can honeslty say they wouldnt like to be lay feeding babies alday.
Aslong as she is eating drinking and healthy everything is fine.

You give her and pups lots of attention this is great as yur not showing her that your more loving towards the puppies.

Sounds like all is well time soon flys and wont be long before they are running around chewing everything in sight, I so dont miss that part hehehehehe.

Oh yes, definately normal, Char was the happiest mommy when we would get home, then she'd settle down and look really depressed. I guess feeding 6 or like her she was feeding 7, takes alot of the energy out of them.

Keep up the attention, when the pups get to movin around and don't rely on her as much (driving her and you crazy), she'll perk up a bit.

But they need all of her attention now so don't worry so much. Just watch an make sure she's feeding them, and all are healthy. Also make sure she has PLENTY of food, she will loose weight and you want to keep her milk level up.

Congrats on your Granny hood!!! GOod luck.

Hi Squidgeyem, Thier little eyes will open at 7 days old. My girl just had 5 puppies on the 15th of Dec. They will begin to move about around two weeks old. Mine are all chewing, fighting with each other and barking now. They are so cute! but a hand full!!!! Your Mommy is worn out, but soon she will start leaving them more and more, and will perk up a bit, just like samsinsations said... Have fun! your in for the time of your life!!!! TRUST ME!!! PS...just like they said: make sure she eats as much as she wants right now. Casey got so skinny after giving birth, and it scared the heck out of me! but I got good advise about nutrition, and she's fine now....Good luck! and Congradulations! Susan

your not joking they are now 9 days old and moving everywhere not walking but they manage to get out their bed and can be found in middle of the room, we can't see any signs of them opening thier eyes hoping it wont be too long tho. mums very tired but feeding most in night. They just keep getting fatter and fatter.

thanks all for all your advice and hope you and your pets all had a fantastic xmas and are all well

Thanks

Emma

Hi Emma i am glad mum and pups are doing so well.
Now they are eating more mums feed intake will need to be increased alittle.
Has hollie been wormed if not when pups are 2weeks old you can safly worm mum and babies with a puppy wormer.
Puppies will then need to be wormed every 2weeks up until they are 12 weeks old.

good luck and hope they dont chew everything when they are up and about.

mike
