I have one dog (black lab 15 months) and 2 kittens(10 weeks and 13 weeks) my lab was sleeping curled up on the couch next to me. The kitten jumped up on the couch and went up to the dogs face and was sniffing her nose, but not touching her at all. I looked over and my dogs lips were curled (she looked pissy)! It was just really weird, she is the sweetest dog and loves the kittens, they all usually sleep together. Now i am nervous that i may not be around and the dog will be sleeping and the kitten will come up and the dog will bite her or something! well i hope that does not happen. has this happened to anyone else? Natalie never hurts my cats but will sometimes give them a little snarl or warning if they bother her while she is sleeping. Just to be safe, I've always kept my young kittens seperated from the other animals while I was not home. Natalie is rather large compared to a kitten and could easily hurt one even if she did'nt mean to. IP: Logged |

ever heard the expression, let a sleeping dog lie, so old yet so true! was she growling or anything? i probably wouldn't let them sleep together anymore after that, if she was growling. but yeah if she wasn't then i bet the kittens whiskers were just tickling her. IP: Logged |

Dogs like to be left alone while sleeping. I have heard of many people saying their dogs growl while sleeping in their beds. Thats their personal space and they want it respected. ------------------ IP: Logged |
