i've read that older pups/dogs can carry the disease but have no symptoms, which leads back to the vet issue older fine dogs come in and vet takes temperature routinely. thermo may sit in alcohol for 5 minutes or be wiped, but does that sterilize it i am wondering about parvo carriers? do they exist and how long can they carry? Dogs are like humans some carry infections and viruses but never get it themselves this is usually a fully vaccinated dog that carries it and is a carrier for life. Even unvaccinated dogs can be carriers. Parvo is very resilliant and takes alot to kill the virus it can live in the ground for years. Once a dog has been infected with the virus treatment should be sought immediatly even after they have recovered they will still have the virus and some dogs and puppies have a relapse but not all some just become carriers.
