I found a puppy the other day and I think it is a Golden Retriever. I am not sure how to tell how old she is. Can anyone help me?

I would suggest taking her to the vet, for several reasons, to make sure she is healthy, you can ask for an age estimation and they can scan her for a microchip. She may be chipped and have owners looking for her. Have you done anything to try and locate an owner?

The area I found her in was an industrial area. I called the Humane Society and gave them my name and number if anyone came looking for her. That is what we did when I wokred at the Humane Society in Vancouver, WA. I am taking her to the vet on tuesday.

I recently found a dog and managed to find it's owner even though it had been missing for 5 months. I put a found ad in all the major papers(it's free), I placed ads online on the local shelters...more than one because you would be surprised how far away a dog can get from home, I put up flyers in grocery stores, gas stations etc. and I had the dog scanned for a microchip. I actually found the owner by going through the found ads on the county animal shelters web site. I made phone calls to the people who had placed missing ads on there and finally found the owner. Word of caution...don't give away all of the details of the dog...let them tell you, that way you can be sure they are the owner.
